About the challenge
- This is not just another simple Hackathon. We wanted to create something unique which will not only spark the interest in students, but also solve some of the world’s greatest problems starting from our local community.
- First, we will have an ideation round where the participants have to submit idea proposals to solve some of the problems they face every day. We will then combine these ideas to form a mega-project idea.
- We will create an organization for this mega-project idea and create individual modules on which the teams will work on. A team can either take up the responsibility to complete a particular module or work on multiple modules by helping other teams.
- You may have a question, how will we evaluate the performance of the teams and select the winner among them. That is where the dependency on GitHub comes into play. We will access the teams based on the contributions they have made to the mega-project as a whole and we will award them based on that.
- This mega-project will then be published as an open-source project which will be managed by our GitHub Campus Club.
Get started
- Firstly your team will have to come up with an idea that solves some of the world's greatest problems starting with our local community (which is our college, city, etc.).
- For example, it can be a blockchain-based pokemon go like game which will encourage sustainability in our college premises, an app that will make our canteen go paperless by placing orders on a mobile app and scanning the QR code, and much more.
- A crazy innovative idea is the primary motivation for a successful project. Your team will have to submit their idea proposal and shortlisted ideas will be selected for the hackathon.
This Hackathon is also for Complete Beginners
- It does not matter if you don't know how to build an app. We will have mentors to help you throughout the time of the hackathon. They will guide you on how you can implement the project. They will give you resources and tutorials to refer to.
- It doesn't matter if you are not able to complete the project, but you will learn a lot from working on your project, and at the same time, you can also have a look at what exciting stuff other teams are working on.
Hybrid Hackathon
- This will be a completely hybrid weekend hackathon. Participants can either come to campus and work on their projects here or they can develop their projects from their homes.
- We highly encourage participants to come offline because not only you will have the chance to learn from other projects, but also we will have special fun events and mentoring for students who join us offline.

FAQ
Should I code without sleeping?
No, you do not have to. You can take ample amount of rest and breaks.
Are there walk-in registrations?
Yes, there are walk-in registrations, but you should register before 3:00 PM, September 30, 2022.
Is it compulsory for me to submit a project?
You can either work on your own project or help others with their projects. The amount of contribution you make as a whole will be the judging criteria for the prize. It does not matter if you work on one project or on multiple projects. Learning how apps/websites are developed in the real world is the primary vision for this hackathon. So, make sure you don't miss out on that.
Can I submit only the designs of my project and not any code?
No, we expect you to develop a working application/website. Implementation is one of the main judging criteria for the hackathon.

Requirements
What to Build
Your team should build an application, website or package. We know that you cannot build a complete application or website in 40 hours. So, all we want is a prototype of the application which will have the core part of your idea implemented and provide us an insight on your vision for the project. Basic stuff like login screens, payment, etc. can be omitted but if you have time you can totally do it.
What to Submit
You will have to submit your code by pushing it to GitHub and every team will have to present their project (or contributions if they have worked on other projects) to the jury after the hacking time ends.
